These jewelry storage ideas are so useful that you might think you don’t even need them. No matter how many white-gold hoops you have (name the movie), it doesn’t really matter. If you can’t easily see them, they could have been dropped into the waterline by accident. This is one of those times when “out of sight, but out of mind” can actually be a good thing. You may forget that you ever owned the engraved signet rings your grandmother gave to you. Ask Paola Alberdi (the fashion-obsessed founder and creator of Blank Itinerary, a lifestyle blog). She says, “I would keep everything in its original packaging and put it in my closet.” It was so messy and difficult to find things! Paola isn’t talking about just four or five boxes. She has been collecting jewelry since she a teenager. It was time to declutter. Find Paola’s top jewelry storage tips below. Paola assures us that it doesn’t look complicated if you have pre-organizing nerves.
1. Any drawer will do, pick a drawer
Paola knew that her jewelry should be kept out of the public eye no matter where it was stored. She explains that she does have some jewelry on a tabletop but would not store all her jewelry there. She reorganized her dresser to make space for her new jewelry set. She moved the clothes from the top drawer into a lower drawer.
2. It’s not always more.
There is no reason to keep everything. You can live a more organized life and keep your jewelry pieces in different storage containers. You can use trays, dishes or acrylic makeup storage containers to organize your large jewelry collection.
3. Velvet is a fancy choice
The idea of placing our most recent jewelry pieces on a velvet cushion gives us a special feeling. The velvety texture will help to keep your precious jewels in place, if you don’t already have another reason to arrange them in this fashion. This will stop you from wandering earrings!
4. It’s time to get it out
Paola keeps her everyday rings in a shallow tray with a pattern next to her bust. It is not too noticeable. It’s easy to take them off at the end and put them in the tray. Then, I can have them ready to go the next day. You can make any small dish, but we recommend looking at the Lam Label’s collection of vintage dishes. 5. Keep similar items in your inventory together
“I love to combine all my large statement earrings, and then I can have similar styles together. Paola says that I arranged my larger and more colorful rings together. Keep similar styles and color families together to make it easy to find them.
6. The jewelry-as–decor method
Sometimes pieces need to be kept alone out of necessity. “I have many gold dainty rings. I usually separate them into different compartments. But I spread them out so that I can see what’s inside each one. Paola says that some dainty necklaces can be worn on their own to prevent them from getting tangled. Take a look at the tabletop display to find your most popular (and easily tangled!) piece and make sure you have it handy.
7. Choose a tiered system
Tiered storage is key to organizing and saving space, no matter if you are a traditionalist who prefers a jewelry box or a more sculptural person.
8. Are you looking for crystals?
Your crystals can be used for more than just their energy. For a beautiful and healing effect, place your favorite pair of earrings or stackable rings onto a flat-top crystal. Storage.
9. Your objects can be dressed up
Paola used a clothbust (the type you would see in a jewelry shop) that she had on hand to shine a few of her favourite necklaces. She says that it turned out to be an interesting and useful decor piece. You can spice up the decor in your home by adding a few necklaces to add style and flair. We are confident that anything is possible with a bit of cloth.
10. Compartmentalize
Paola looked into storage compartments that she could fit Tetris-style in the drawer. You could fool yourself into believing that Paola’s drawer is custom because her storage compartments match the inside. It is very simple, but it appears more complicated than it really is. She says that I just separate my necklaces, rings, and earrings into different sections. It is also used by Hector, my husband, to store his cufflinks. Most of my favorites pieces are stored so I can easily access them.
